Ideas For Your Next Family Style Catering

What’s for dinner? It’s the nightly question plaguing every parent’s mind. Worry not! Order in, hire our catering company Worry Free Catering, the best choice for your event, or cook up one of the below meals family style. Even your pickiest eater will rejoice:

1. Make Every Day a Taco Tuesday

Tacos are likely one of the first foods that come to mind when you think of providing a hefty meal for multiple taste buds, and for good reasons! Tacos are always a surefire crowd-pleaser and are easily customizable to fit multiple taste buds and diet restrictions. Moreover, they can be as cheap or as expensive as you want them to be!

First, decide if you want hard shell tacos, soft tacos, or both. If catering for a particularly large crowd, you may want to provide both corn and flour tortillas if opting for the latter. Next, settle on your main filling: chicken, steak, brisket, fish. You may also want to consider an option that’s friendly for vegetarians, such as black beans, pinto beans, roasted cauliflower, or portobello mushrooms. Offer at least two of these selections. Next comes the toppings, and this is where things get especially fun. Consider providing shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, finely chopped onions, cilantro, jalapeño slices, roasted corn, sliced avocado, fresh limes (for squeezing), thinly sliced or shredded radish, spicy mayo, various hot sauces, cotija cheese, and sour cream. These toppings may vary depending on the authenticity of the tacos you’re aiming for.

Worry Free Catering is a premiere taco caterer. We have a wide variety of tacos and other meals we can offer you. We work on many types of events too.

Side dishes can range from Mexican street corn, to refried beans, black bean soup, cilantro lime rice, or a simple spread of chips with salsa, guacamole, and/or queso. Whip up an elegant flan or tres leches cake for dessert. Delicioso!

2. Backyard BBQ in a Flash

When you need something to comfort your soul, BBQ might just be the savior you’re looking for. Order up a pan of brisket and ribs and get the bread ready to go! Be certain to provide extra pickles and for bonus points, an array of vinegar-based, mustard-based, and sweet barbecue sauces. Sides can include cole slaw, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans, brunswick stew, green beans, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. Peach cobbler is a classic dessert, though apple pie or banana pudding will also suffice.

3. …That’s Amore!

Who doesn’t love pasta? It’s amore! Not to mention, it’s also extremely versatile and perfect for dishing up in large quantities. A chicken alfredo bake, spaghetti and meatballs, or a simple (yet elegant) penne are all great options. Like the taco bar, pasta is also easily adjustable to accommodate different dietary restrictions. Serve up garlic bread and fresh Caesar salads as sides to balance out the pasta. You can’t go wrong with cannoli for dessert.

4. Gimme a Pizza That

It doesn’t matter how old you are: pizza makes everyone excited. Order up several styles of pizza alongside various dipping sauces (who doesn’t love a buttery crust dipped in ranch, marinara, or butter-garlic?) to keep everyone happy. Wings and cheesy bread are totally optional (but obviously delicious) sides, while salad can provide for a refreshing relief from the grease of the pizza. A gooey brownie or cookie cake cap off this meal as the perfect indulgent desserts.

5. We Want Some Dim Sum

Much of Asian cuisine is meant to be consumed “family-style”. What better way to appreciate this preparation than the iconic layout that is dim sum?! Dim sum is comprised of a wide variety of small, appetizer-style dishes. A dim sum spread may include: dumplings (filled with everything from shrimp to pork to mushrooms), spring rolls, barbecue pork buns, sticky rice, congee, calamari, and more. These spreads also typically feature a dessert or two, such as an egg tart, mango pudding or various sponge cakes. For true authenticity, ensure that your meal is served with green or oolong tea.
