Planning a wedding is a lot of work, but luckily, there are many Summerlin catering options available to the busy bride, from full service wedding catering (which takes care of many party planning logistics) to a traditional wedding caterer, whose sole job is to show up with the food and make sure hungry guests stay fed.
Before beginning your search for a caterer, be sure to have a rough guest list, a venue, and a food budget. Additionally, find out if your venue requires you to work with a pre-determined list of preferred caterers.
Compile a list of potential caterers from a few different sources (Google searches, word-of-mouth, etc.), then narrow it down to those you are especially interested in and those that will most likely fit into your budget. Next, contact your chosen caterers to get a price quote and to set up a tasting. Be sure to read any reviews you can find for the caterers on your list to be sure you know what to expect.
While researching and meeting with caterers, remember that full-service caterers do more than just cook and serve the food. They often set up tables, coordinate rental items, provide waitstaff and bartenders, clean up after your reception, pack the leftovers, and remove garbage. When creating your budget, keep in mind that full service caterers provide services that, if you choose a non-full service caterer, you will have to find and pay someone else to perform.
When meeting with caterers, be prepared with a list of questions. Aside from finding out if the caterer is going to meet your specific needs and budget, ask questions such as whether the caterers themselves enjoy the food they serve; whether the chef who prepared the food for the tasting will be the same chef at the wedding; what kinds of additional fees the caterer may charge (cake cutting fees, corkage fees, service charges, etc.); and whether the caterer provides cake and alcohol or if you will need to find other vendors for those items. Additionally, find out what the caterer’s backup plan is for if the chef gets sick on your wedding day and whether they can provide you with references from recent events.
Although finding a caterer in Summerlin for your wedding may seem overwhelming at first, you will be happy you went the catering route when you have fewer things to worry about on your big day.
